ABOUT LESLEIGH M. FRASER, RN, BSN
The Work Organizational Review Card- WORC was created and designed by Lesleigh M. Fraser, RN, BSN. Lesleigh started her career as a nurse in Boston Massachusetts, a city widely recognized as one of the health care industry’s progressive pillars.
Lesleigh found that nurses on the front lines
of patient care are tasked with collecting voluminous amounts of patient information. This information is of little use to the health care team as a whole if it is not collected and shared in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The smooth flow of information and communication amongst the health care team is essential for healthy patient outcomes.
Lesleigh began to develop a tool that was tailored to her specialty’s needs that was focused on nursing tasks, and aimed at enhancing timeliness, organization, prioritization and execution. As the card developed over the course of several months she realized that this tool was not only beneficial for nurses, but also other occupations within the medical industry.
